We are witnessing a phenomenon - perhaps a species of Mass Formation Psychosis - arise in our society that one might call Betrayal Denial Syndrome or BDS. We shall elucidate thusly.

Catturd’s Cope
Here is a good examples of BDS from a larger account, Catturd (at)(catturd2) (archive here)...
Days later, I posted this sarcastic comment (archive here)...
When Catturd raised the topic of treason (archive here)...
I used the opportunity to imply that he was supporting treason (archive here)...
When Catturd posted this (archive here)...
I opportunistically commented this (archive here)...
Looking back to the day before (May 18, 2025) and see Catturd's reactions to the interview starting with the earliest (archive here)...
Next we have this (archive here)...
Next, we see this (archive here)…
Then there's this (archive here) wherein Catturd cheers,
Kash and Dan will get it done.
Just so you know, Catturd is the kind of person who posts stuff like this (archive here)...
Therefore it is fair to say that it is clear that he is not a left winger. 2 posts later he posts this (archive here)….
Keep in mind that Catturd (allegedly) dislikes traitors (archive here)...
...and (allegedly) dislikes treason (archive here)...
...and dislikes hypocrites (allegedly) (archive here)...
But he seems to see nothing traitorous, treasonous or hypocritical about this (archive here)....
The full text of his post above reads,
No, I don’t think Kash and Dan are lying - if the government, CIA, etc killed Epstein, of course every document on the matter would be doctored and all evidence would corroborate their storyline. They’d leave no stone unturned to cover their tracks to protect the rich and powerful pedophiles. Just look how long they lied and cover upped the Kennedy assassination.
So, Catturd doesn't believe that Epstein killed himself but he believes that Dan and Kash believe that Epstein killed himself. In other words, his way of coping is to say, well, yes of of course they are wrong but they aren't lying, they're just honest fools. That's his cope.

Ian’s Innocence
Starting at 10:08 in “Dan Bongino Makes It Worse, James O'Keefe Takes Back Project Veritas, Borderlands 4 Drama & Comey” by TheQuartering (May 22, 2025), Ian Crossland says,
Where’s the Epstein stuff? Epstein apparently killed himself, Diddy’s the nothing bur- like what is going on?
Jeremey (the man behind the channel) chimes in,
Literally, we’re all idiots. I can’t, that’s only that that’s all I could, you know,
Luke Rudekowski adds,
We don’t know any better, the authorities have it under control, the government knows what’s best for you, don’t question authority, just blindly follow it and everything’s gonna be AA-OK.
They were being sarcastic, of course, and none of them think Epstein killed himself, but Ian was holding onto hope that we have not been betrayed by Kash and Bongino because he then says,
The Dan Bongino, Kash Patel saying that Epstein killed himself - I think what they’re doing is like, ‘Please, those of you who can discern, please see that we’re lying…
Jeremy groans incredulously
…through the lie, know that we’re still on you’re side but we cannot cause a panic and we don’t want our Middle Eastern allies to, to stop selling us oil
Jeremy makes more such sounds and Luke says,
Nah, let’s not - it - get right into it
implying that it was too early in their show for that and asking,
can we not just get into the black pill suppository we have to sit on for the next two hours?
National Pulse's Raheem Kassam
Tal Axelrod reported for Axios,
Reality check: Not everyone is ready to flip the table. While some people like Bondi are still building up their MAGA bona fides, others like Patel and Bongino have longstanding credibility with conspiracy-minded Trump fans — in part by echoing claims about Epstein.
"The MAGA base's frustration is understandable, but if they think people like Bongino or Patel have 'gone native' then they've gone nuts. Pam Bondi's early Epstein flub was a symptom of trying to do too much at once, and toss some meat to the base to keep them sated. That was silly," The National Pulse's Raheem Kassam texted Axios.
"But the underlying point remains, Kash and Dan are bad-asses at the height of their efficacy. They deserve more time and more trust."

Diagnosing BDS
Perhaps a good way to diagnose BDS is by seeing the subject's reaction to the following concluding passage from "Kash and Bongino losing trust over Epstein" by Todd Baumann for American Thinker from May 20, 2025 (archive here),
So when Kash Patel and Dan Bongino go on national TV and expect Americans to take their word for it — that Epstein killed himself because “the file” says so — they're not just asking for trust. They're demanding silence. In doing so, they've crossed a line.
Patel and Bongino once built reputations as truth-tellers, exposing corruption inside federal agencies. But now they stand on the side of opacity and deference to power. Instead of providing transparency, they’re waving it off. Instead of advocating for full accountability, they’re sealing the vault.
It’s a self-inflicted credibility collapse.
Trust in government institutions is at an all-time low, and for good reasons. The Epstein case may be the single greatest example in a generation of how the elite are protected at all costs. If two of the most visible law enforcement figures in the country are now helping to obscure that truth, the public has every right to be outraged.
“Trust us, we’ve seen the file” is not justice. It’s not transparency. It’s a message to the American people: Don’t ask questions.

A Punchline of Sorts
FBI Deputy Director Ban Dingdongo said on May 18, 2025 starting at 10:48 in this video,
I hate weak people
and derides people who don't
have the guts, the courage or the character to do the right thing
and who instead do
the easy thing.

UPDATE
On June 6, 2025, Kash Patel sat down for a talk with Joe Rogan on the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast (see it here on Rumble).
It is almost 2 hours long. But some important stuff was said. So, let’s look at this post by O’keefe Media Group [archived here]…
Note that he blatantly and directly contradicts what AG Pam Bongi had said. She said there were too many videos to go through in short order. In this interview with Rogan, Kash said there are no such videos. Notice also that his statements about the existence of video of Epstein’s jail cell contradicts the official narrative that there is no such video.
Speaking from a standpoint of logic, they are not telling us the truth. They have claimed that mutually exclusive things are true at the same time. They have told us that the jail cell video does and does not exist. They have told us that there are and are not incriminating videos.
They have betrayed us.

Do you think they willingly sold out, or were threatened/ mk ultra'd? There seems to be something that happens when people take these positions at the highest levels of office and I don't know if just greed explains it. It does feel inexcusable to just be like, "trust me bro" considering his previous statements of "i know a guy, he didn't kill himself".
